Joke House?

Even though a lot of times we are considered the “joke house,” is it really Hufflepuff that is the joke? Gryffindors are brave, courageous and noble, but being brave can have its disadvantages too. Gryffindors are brave enough to sneak around when they are not supposed to and go to forbidden places. Hufflepuffs are brave too, yet we only show our bravery when it’s needed.

Ravenclaws have intellect and do well in school. Still, book smarts aren’t everything. Plus it doesn’t help you socially to have “superior knowledge,” and let everyone know it. Those in Hufflepuff not only do well in school because of their hard work, but also are very sensible. We may not be geniuses, but we are smart in many different areas.

Finally, Slytherins have ambition. Yet so do Hufflepuffs. But Slytherins will do anything to win, including cheating. Their drive for success is so great that they don’t care about anyone else’s feelings, or health. Hufflepuffs work hard to get what they want. Whatever we win, we deserve. But if one of our competitors (even in a rival house) is hurt, we are willing to risk losing to help them out.

Hufflepuff may be considered the “joke house”, but is it really? I’d say that it’s really the other houses that should be considered that. While they are really strong in one area, we are good in all. And another thing, Hufflepuffs are just and loyal to EVERYONE, not just other Hufflepuffs.
